Answer based on what you have observed over the past 90 days.
What the assessment looks at
A company announcement and a change to your own responsibilities are different kinds of evidence. The check brings them together without assuming every employee faces the same situation.
Select a tracked employer, an unlisted employer, or choose not to say. A listed company adds current Corporate Stress Index context.
Choose the closest role category. This helps describe your work alongside the changes you have observed.
Review the strongest cost-cutting or restructuring signal, from general discussions to confirmed reductions affecting your division.
Consider unfilled roles, frozen hiring, combined jobs, a team merger or a headcount-reduction target.
Identify changes in monitoring, feedback, performance documentation, formal warnings or pressure to leave.
Review whether your projects, clients, authority, access or involvement in decisions have been reduced.
Consider whether your work is being documented or transferred to another person, vendor, offshore team or automated system.
Know what you will receive
The score comes with an explanation, the strongest contributing signals, the limits of the available information and suggested next steps.
An employee reports company-wide cost cutting, several unfilled roles and repeated negative feedback. They are included in fewer decisions, and work transfer has been discussed. They choose not to identify their employer.
The current assessment calculates the example shown here. It is not a customer testimonial or a result assigned to you.
Understand your result
The check considers changes you report about your company, team and role, alongside public company context when your employer is tracked. Your result explains the main signals and practical steps to consider.
Read the score as workplace pressure. A higher score reflects more or stronger warning signs. It is not a percentage chance of losing your job.
Use the explanation alongside the number. It highlights contributing signals, factors that may still be working in your favour and gaps in the available information.
The tracker follows public signals around employers. The Job Threat Check adds what you report about your immediate team, responsibilities and personal employment pressure. Two employees at the same company can therefore receive different results.

Who is behind it
The Grind Hotline is a worker-first global media and workplace intelligence platform. Its reporting connects company decisions with questions employees can ask about their own work.
Founder Harj Singh is an ex-banker and former global sales leader who lost his job twice in five years. That experience informs the platform’s focus on warning signs, preparation and career options.
Before you start
It can help you assess the pressure visible around your job. It cannot see confidential staffing plans or calculate your probability of losing your job. A score of 36/100 means 36 points of workplace pressure, not a 36% chance of a layoff.
Choose “My employer is not listed” in the assessment. You can still get a result from your answers. The result will identify the missing company context rather than treat it as proof that your employer is safe.
Yes. Questions cover increased monitoring, written negative feedback, formal warnings, a performance-improvement plan and direct pressure to leave. The result helps you organise those observations. It does not determine an employer’s intention or your employment rights.
It asks about work being transferred to an automated system, vendor, offshore team or another employee. It does not forecast which occupation AI will replace or when. Actual changes to your work matter more here than a prediction based only on your job title.
No name, account or email is required to see your result. You can also choose not to identify your employer. Assessment answers and results are recorded as described in the data notes below.
Retake it after a material change, such as a team merger, responsibilities being removed or a formal performance action. Retaking it repeatedly without new information does not add evidence.
Your answers are sent to The Grind Hotline’s assessment service to calculate your result. The tool records employer selection, role category, answer choices, the score, result level and information-confidence label.
You do not need to provide a name or email to receive a result. You can select an unlisted employer or choose not to identify your employer. That does not mean the assessment runs only on your device or that no response data is stored.
